I chose \u201cI Want to Make It With you\u201d by Bread for the song that brings back memories.
\nUpon listening to it, I was transported in time back to my Senior year in high school. The first time that I heard the song, I was sitting in my best friend\u2019s room. She told me about this great new group to which I just had to listen.
\nShe started the record player. Yes, I said record player. For those who don\u2019t know, our music back then was on vinyl, not CD\u2019s. Anyway, I fell instantly in love with Bread\u2019s music, especially \u201cI Want To Make It With You\u201d.
\nFrom then on during that Summer, I heard it everywhere, from dragging on the strip on Friday nights to dates at\u00a0Make-out Point.
\nOne memory is, when our family rented a cabin in the mountains, my mom and dad went into town, leaving my friend and I at the lake, swimming . When we got back, we immediately put my Bread album on and, as my song came on, we heard a honk in the driveway. We rushed out on the balcony to find my parents in a brand new Cadillac.
\nIt\u2019s strange what old songs can do to you physically, as well as emotionally. As soon as I heard the first line of that familiar old tune today, my heart went to my stomach and my eyes teared up. It is so easy to remember my teenage years through songs.
