Lesson 3
Exercise 1
Come up with at least 5 details about your childhood room:
Would rather not, but here goes.
Happy and fun when shared with my little sister.
We accidently kicked out the bedroom window
Yikes, when we decided to pull our own teeth and put them under our pillow for the “tooth fairy”, we each tied a string to your tooth, tied the other end of the string to the bedroom door knob, stood back and shut the door.
Most painful visit from the “tooth fairy” ever!!
Safe when sharing with my little sister.
Different story, scary, for me once I had my own room.
Exercise 2
Define a timeframe for your memoir:
15 years-Day One
Sometimes, your beautiful plans, your hopes, your dreams, are all coming true. Those times when you are so happy that you might pinch yourself to see if you are dreaming.
Then, in a split second, your life is turned upside down, inside out, and you are thrown into a scary foreign land. Nothing will ever be the same again.
Exercise 3
Make a list of 5 important events or moments from the time frame you have chosen:
Southern Belle and Handsome Yankee Airman
Met the Love of My Life on blind date
Love at First Sight
Danger at home for Southern Belle
Engagement
Marriage
Family
Happiness for 11 years
Snow covered black ice on an Alaskan highway on a cold December night
Sadness for last 4 years of 15 years
