About Diane Young

I am a happily married mother of two wonderful grown children, impatiently ( ! ) awaiting to be made into a Gramma. I retired from twenty-eight years of service with Air Canada fifteen years ago and became a portrait sculptor and avid golfer. Five years ago, hip surgery forced me to complete bed rest for six weeks. In order to save my sanity from the drivel on daytime TV, I took an online creative writing course and haven't stopped writing since. I find creative writing to be yoga for my mind ... it twists and bends my brain into unnatural positions that it normally wouldn't be in. I look forward to meeting my fellow Cyber classmates!

No. 6 should be my favourite, because when my daughter was just 8 days old, I had to leave her as I was going for my college examinations out of town. When returned after 7 days, she was gone, died of pneumonia. She gazed me into my eyes when I cuddled her and I gazed into hers before saying ‘bye’, but it turned to be ‘goodbye’ for ever.
